Bunsen's theories, particularly his assertion that Brahmans were "pure Aryans" and his controversial reading of Genesis, were later absorbed into racist Aryan mythology. He was married to Elizabeth Gurney and had notable descendants, including his son Maurice de Bunsen. He passed away in London, where he lived for much of his life.
