He began his acting career in the 1982 Bollywood movie Aagman. Anupam Kher was the Chairman of the Indian Film Censor Board and the National School of Drama, India. He won the National Film Award in 1989 and 2005. He was honored with the Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian cinema. He has not only acted in movies, but has also directed and produced some as well. He is an active member in various philanthropic efforts. Anupam Kher is married to actor, Kirron Kher.
