It is also considered to be a descriptive narrative with prose poetry. The Book of Disquiet has earned its place as one of the greatest works of the twentieth century. About Fernando Pessoa Fernando Pessoa was a Portuguese poet, writer, literary critic, translator, publisher and philosopher. He is considered to be one of the greatest poets and an important literary figure who wrote in the Portuguese language. His works have been translated to English and French. He has gone by at least 75 other names, but did not wish to call them pseudonyms as he felt the word did not do justice to the identities. He preferred to call them heteronyms.
