Set in Nazi-ruled Germany during World War II, The Book Thief tells the story of a young girl who is fascinated by books, so much so that she doesn't mind stealing them if necessary. Through the course of her stay with her new foster parents, the girl harbours a Jewish refugee in her basement - an act that could lead to catastrophe.
