The Bourne Ultimatum is a spy thriller by Robert Ludlum. Summary of the Book Jason Bourne is on a hunt for his old enemy, Carlos the Jackal. The Jackal is turning old, but that does little to change his attempts towards killing Jason. He wants to go out with a bang, and to do this, he feels he must kill Bourne and the KGB facility of Novgorod. He brings together a camaraderie of old criminals dedicated to his goals for their families’ comfort and begins to set his plans in motion. However, Jason Bourne is hunting for him, working with CIA agent Alexander Conklin to find him and kill him first. About Robert Ludlum Robert Ludlum was an American novelist. He is best known for his Bourne series, The Road to Gandolfo, The Matarese Circle and The Road to Omaha. This book was very loosely adapted into a movie starring Matt Damon. Series Reading Order This is the third Jason Bourne novel. Bourne’s adventures continue in the sequel, The Bourne Legacy by Eric Van Lustbader.
