Instead of being terrified, however, the Otis family members decide to treat the macabre activities as a normal yet annoying part of their life. They go about their business in a jovial manner, acting as if ghostly occurrences were a run-of-the-mill matter around them. That suits them, but there’s one person who would beg to differ: the ghost of Sir Simon Canterville who will never give up trying to scare the Otis family out of their socks! About Oscar Wilde Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde was an Irish writer and poet best remembered for his epigrams, his novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, and his plays. Wilde studied at the Trinity College, Dublin, and later joined the University Philosophical Society. He won a demyship to study at Magdalen College, Oxford. Media Note This story was adapted into several films, including the hit TV musical starring Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and Michael Redgrave. The Bollywood movie Bhoothnath was inspired by this story.
