The Caucasian Chalk Circle is a play that has been largely inspired by a Chinese play called Chalk Circle. It is set in the Caucasus mountains in Georgia and tells readers the story of King Solomon.  Summary of the Book The play tells us the story of a child that has two mothers. The child was rescued by a peasant girl who took care of it like a mother would. It was left abandoned by its wealthy parents during the worst times of the Civil War and was found by the servant girl who decides to care for him. However, when the war is over, the parents of the child are back to claim him. Read the play to find out who is the better mother and who keeps the child in the end. About Bertolt Brecht Bertolt Brecht was a theatre practitioner of the twentieth century who had made major contributions to dramaturgy and theatrical production. He was a German Marxist, poet, playwright and theatre director. A few of his notable works include: The Threepenny Opera, Life of Galileo, Mother Courage and Her Children, and The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui.
