The Comedy of Errors is a play by William Shakespeare. Summary of the Book When a pair of twins with the same name are separated at birth, destiny has an odd fate in store for them. They each acquire a slave, whose own twin works for the other. In a grand celebration of all that is slapstick and absurd, the Bard of Avon shows readers what it means to laugh out loud. Errors of mistaken identity prove again and again that misunderstanding and mistakes are the funniest parts of human life. This play is considered to have influenced many works that followed, especially influencing comedy TV shows from the late 70s to the present times. If you’ve ever rolled on the floor laughing at a joke involving twins separated at birth only to hilariously cross paths in the future, you’re laughing at one of the Bard’s finest plays. About William Shakespeare William Shakespeare was an English poet, playwright and writer. Best remembered for his plays, he is called England's national poet and the "Bard of Avon".
