In 1848, two young men published a book they believed would change the world. They were right. Summary of the Book The Communist Manifesto is one of the most important political texts ever published. It presents a new class structure, one that envisions a world where equality truly has a meaning. It states that all men are created equal, and that there are no blocks of unnecessary social structure. Definitive in its goals, and single-minded in its purpose, the Manifesto calls the people to action, aiming its message at the proletariat. This book, and its message, deserve to be read by everyone, socialist or communist, who wishes to understand how mankind can move ahead and form a government where equality and justice are given to one and all. About the Authors Karl Marx was a German philosopher, sociologist, economist and revolutionary socialist who is also known for penning Das Kapital. Friedrich Engels is remembered for his contributions to Marxist theory, and for his organization and editing of the works of Karl Marx after Marx’s death.
