The Communist Manifesto is celebrated as one of the most dominant political theories in the history of the world. The book was edited and annotated by Freidrich Engels using the authorized English translation. Summary of the book The book is featured with an extensive and stimulating introduction by the renowned historian Martin Malia. The Afterword is composed by Stephen Kotkin who specializes in Russian history. The book explains with a deep insight what Karl and Engel argued about the nature of societal and political theories, the contradictions that the concepts have in their structure. It also discusses how these two authors augured that socialism would replace capitalism and how socialism would eventually be substituted by communism. About the authors Karl Marx was a famous philosopher, political scientist, economist, humanist, sociologist and a revolutionary who was born in the 19th century in Germany. His work laid the foundations for the present relation between capital and labour. His theories about society, economics, and politics are together called Marxism and Das Kapital is his most celebrated independent work. Freidrich Engels was a German social scientist, philosopher, political theorist who co-authored The Communist Manifesto in 1848. Engels later edited the second and third volumes of Das Kapital after Mark’s demise. He has also authored The Condition of the Working Class in England.
