His works also include short stories like The Birds of Prey, The Man Who Was King, and A Tale Of A Whale. His non-fiction works include Tradition And The Individual Talent, Dante, Elizabethan Essays, Notes Towards the Definition of Culture, and Shakespeare And The Stoicism Of Seneca. Thomas Stearns Eliot was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1888. He graduated from Harvard with a degree in philosophy. He earned a scholarship to continue his studies at Merton College in Oxford, England. But he did not stay long at Merton. Eliot settled in England and acquired British citizenship. He received numerous honors and awards including the Nobel Prize in Literature, Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the Order of Merit. He passed away in the year 1965, at the age of 76.
