The Count of Monte Cristo is a classic novel of revenge by Alexandre Dumas. He is the Count of Monte Cristo, and he lives only to exact revenge on the men who ruined Dantès’ life. About Alexandre Dumas Alexandre Dumas, père, was a French writer. He is best remembered for his D’Artagnan Romances, collected in The Three Musketeers, Twenty Years After and The Vicomte de Bragelonne: Ten Years Later. The Count of Monte Cristo was adapted into several films, most notably in 2002 starring Jim Caviezel, Guy Pearce and Richard Harris. It was also masterfully adapted into a Telugu movie entitled Veta starring Chiranjeevi.
