Enters private detective Cormoron Strike, with his own haunting past, wanting to solve the crime at any cost. This in short is the plot of “The Cuckoo’s Calling” – written by J.K. Rowling under the pseudonym of Robert Galbraith. The literary world has been going crazy with the revelation of the writer. Despite that and more so probably beyond that, the book is stupendously written. Strike makes for a great detective – almost as good as Poirot or Maigret. The pages just keep turning with this one and the reader will not realize when the book is over. “The Cuckoo’s Calling” is ace-crime fiction. It doesn’t relent and doesn’t get boring at any given time. The book is one great treat to sink into this fall.   Cormoran Strike, a private investigator, is out to investigate the murder of supermodel, Lula Landry. Strike is about to discover things about the glamorous world as he had never imagined and more. He is accompanied by his smart and efficient assistant secretary, Robin. Summary of the Book Cormoran Strike, a detective who hasn’t been doing too well in his field of service due to personal reasons, is out to find out the mystery behind the murder of supermodel, Lula Landry. When hired by her adopted brother, John Bristow, it is seemed as though the supermodel’s death is actually a suicide. Strike realizes later, after a series of interviews with those who knew and were closest to Lula, that it was infact a murder. In the circle of friends and family of the glamorous model, Strike gets increasingly involved in the complicated path that is leading to her murderer. About the Author J. K. Rowling is the author of this book written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. She is a British novelist who is best known for her Harry Potter series. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Exeter. Books authored by her include: The Casual Vacancy, the Harry Potter series and Tales of Beedle the Bard.
