The Fast Diet is a book about the 5:2 diet program that leads to weight loss by cutting the food intake for two days a week. Summary Of The Book The Fast Diet, published in 2013, talks about a diet that deals with a concept called intermittent fasting. This radical approach also focuses on how to become healthy and live longer. Human bodies require over 2000 calories everyday. The authors of this book suggest that dieters are free to eat anything for five days a week, without shooting over this limit. On two non-consecutive days, women and men must bring down their calorie intake to 500 and 600 respectively. This diet, along with exercise, will help in quick weight loss, and make a person healthier. Known as the 5:2 Diet, it is supported by scientific data. Science shows that the low intake of food makes one’s body move into survival mode. This slows down the production of new cells and encourages the body to repair the existing ones. This decreases the risk of cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular problems, arthritis, and asthma. It is also said to sharpen one’s mind and slow down ageing. The book also includes a menu plan called Fast 500 and Fast 600, as well as a calorie counter. The Fast Diet shows how to incorporate this diet into one’s normal lifestyle. The authors suggest taking two meals on the diet days to divide the total calories. Recipes and menu plans in this guide will help dieters with their meals. Ten pages of colourful pictures, and twenty pages of testimonials have also been incorporated. This diet allows people to eat their favourite foods most of the time, and yet get rid of the excess pounds. This book is easy to read, and presents a realistic outlook for weight loss.
