The Fifth Witness is a courtroom drama by Michael Connelly featuring the Lincoln Lawyer Mickey Haller. Summary of the Book Mickey Haller isn’t doing so well. After he expands his business into foreclosure defense, one of his clients is accused of killing a banker she claims was trying to take away her home. Mickey deploys his team to clear his client’s name, even though the evidence and his own intuition say otherwise. He uncovers that the banker had clandestine dealings with the black market, earning himself an assault for asking too many questions. Just as he thinks the case is closed, he receives another surprise, one that turns the case on its head. About Michael Connelly Michael Connelly is an American novelist best known for his crime fiction novels. A graduate of the University of Florida, where he majored in journalism and minored in creative writing, Connelly worked as a journalist in the crime beat. Connelly’s first book was The Black Echo, featuring the LAPD Detective Hieronymus Bosch. He won the Edgar Award for Best First Novel by the Mystery Writers of America, and went on to write many novels in the genre. Some of his other books are: Lost Light, City Of Bones, The Brass Verdict, The Reversal and The Black Box. A prolific writer, Connelly has since appeared on the TV series Castle, joining several other best-selling authors as Richard Castle’s poker buddies and writing group.
