"David Hilbert’s Foundations of Geometry is a classical text on the origins of Euclidean Geometry. The book was first printed in the 1890s, intended to serve as an introductory text on the basics of Geometry and how it evolved. It provides readers with an interesting treatise on the fundamentals of geometry and shows how the subject was percieved. It contains the large format illustrations from the original classical text, helping students appreciate the evolution of geometry. It is a must have for all maths enthusiasts and mathematicians at any level of study. About David Hilbert David Hilbert was a German mathematician and academician. He is best remembered for his contributions to invariant theory and the axiomatization of geometry. He also developed the theory of Hilbert spaces, and helped defend Georg Cantor’s set theory and transfinite numbers. His collection of 23 Problems is now a part of mathematics legend and history. A graduate of the University of Königsberg, Hilbert worked as a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Göttingen, where he obtained his Ph.D. Several of his students went onto to become famous in their own rights, and among them was the physicist-inventor genius John von Neumann.
