The Girl from Nongrim Hills: by Ankush Saikia, is the thrilling story of a guitarist, a beautiful woman and an arms deal gone all wrong. Summary of the Book Bok is a guitar player in a Shillong band, who has a lot on his mind. Kitdor, his elder brother, has lost 50 lakh rupees on a trip to Nagaland, while buying arms for a group of militants. Kitdor is given only a week’s time to repay the money and the only person who can help him is his even-tempered younger brother. Bok, on the other hand, finds himself in a helpless situation until a chance meeting with a lovely woman offers him a desperate answer. But soon, it turns out that the unfortunate musician is caught in the tangled web of lies of the woman. He must outwit her, and the politicians, militants and cops she leaves in her wake, and finally find the 50 lakhs in time to save his Kitdor. Will he be successful in all his attempts? About Ankush Saikia Ankush Saikia was born in Assam. He grew up in Madison, Wisconsin, Assam and Shillong. He has previously worked for India Today, Sage Publications, and Dorling Kindersley. Ankush was shortlisted for the fourth Outlook/Picador-India Non-fiction Writing Award in 2005. He has also authored Jet City Woman and Spotting Veron and Other Stories. He currently lives in Shillong, Meghalaya and Tezpur, Assam.
