The Great Escape movie is based on a true story. The movie is about a group of allied prisoners of war. The movie begins with the Nazis gathering at a toughest POW camp in Germany. Prisoners famous for previous escape attempts are kept in this prison camp which is designed and proven to be escape-proof. To beat all records, the prisoners plan to leave the camp not in one's and two's but in hundreds, by building separate escape tunnels. Richard Attenborough, a British soldier formulates the plan and forms a team consisting of Charles Bronson, who plays the role of a Polish trench-digging expert; Donald Pleasence, a forger; James Garner, an American who can steal; and Steve McQueen, an American rebel. The story of the Great Escape 1963 revolves around the way this team build escape tunnels and also deal with problematic POWs while escaping from the Nazis.An escape from the Nazis is not as simple as it seems. However, the POWs plan to at least divert the attention of the Germans from other war-related subjects if not escape entirely. Captain Hilts and Flying Officer Ives make rudimentary escape attempts to throw the Germans off the actual escape plan. The Great Escape 1963 movie is full of twists and turns that will leave you biting your nails anxiously to know what happens next. The Great Escape film is an epic adventure with exciting action sequences. Not to forget, the famous notorious motorcycle chase between Steve McQueen and the Nazis which is considered to be the most exciting action sequence. The Great Escape 1963 has a huge star cast and is based on the book by Paul Brickhill. A thorough entertainer, this DVD is a must-have in your classic movie collection.
