She was curious, like all children are, and she wanted to know why she couldn’t go out into the snow. She decides to explore the wilderness, ignoring the inherent dangers that could lurk there. After all, she thought to herself, there really can’t be such a monstrous creature called a Big Bad Mouse, could there? About the Authors Julia Donaldson is a children’s writer, playwright and performer known for her popular rhyming stories for children. Axel Scheffler is an illustrator who studied at the Bath Academy of Art. Born in Germany, he is currently based in London. Together, the authors have also corresponded on The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and Stick Man.
