The Hound of the Baskervilles has haunted the Baskerville family for generations. However, Sherlock Holmes begs to differ that it is responsible for the recent death of an heir. This novel is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s most famous work. Summary of the Book Sir Charles Baskerville’s death was attributed to the mysterious legend of the hound that has plagued his family for generations. However, Sherlock Holmes is skeptical. He doesn’t believe in demon hounds, or in curses. He goes to the moorland to investigate the case. there has to be a logical explanation for this farce. But in the moorland, there is a creature that could very well convince anyone of curses and hellhounds. About Arthur Conan Doyle Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a Scottish writer and physician best known for his mystery novels and short stories featuring Sherlock Holmes. He is also famous his Professor Challenger series detailed in: The Lost World, The Poison Belt and The Land of Mist. Doyle studied medicine at the University of Edinburgh. He was knighted in 1902 by King Edward for his services as a volunteer doctor in the Langman Field Hospital at Bloemfontein between March and June 1900.
