The Invisible Man is a science fiction novel by H. G. Wells. Summary of the Book Of all the guests at an inn, one man cuts a stark contrast. He is clothed in a long-sleeved, thick coat, not minding the weather. His face is hidden behind bandages as though it were something grotesque, the other guests suspect he hides horrendous scars. They have no idea that the truth is more macabre than they can imagine. The man’s name is Griffin and he is a former scientist who played with fate when he decided to study the refractive index of human skin. His tests went awry, even accounting for the modicum of his success, and it resulted in a devastating end. He had turned invisible, with no ascertainable way of returning to his former self. His new form turns him against his nation, and he decides to use it to exact revenge against the city. Can no one stop this madman? About H. G. Wells Herbert George "H. G." Wells was a British writer, considered the father of the Science-Fiction genre. He is best remembered for The War of the Worlds, The Time Machine and The Island of Doctor Moreau.
