The Invisible Man, a science-fiction novel by H.G. Wells, published in 1897. The story concerns the life and death of a scientist named Griffin who has gone mad. Having learned how to make himself invisible, Griffin begins to use his invisibility for nefarious purposes, including murder. When he is finally killed, his body becomes visible again. About Author H. G. Wells was an English writer who is remembered mostly for his science fiction novels. He is also known as the father of science fiction. He wrote more than fifty novels and dozens of short stories. In addition to his fame as a writer, he was prominent in his lifetime as a forward-looking, even prophetic social critic who devoted his literary talents to the development of a progressive vision on a global scale.
