Summary of the Book After orchestrating an event which led to the surgical removal of his face for reasons only a madman could comprehend, the Joker has gone missing. Batman's archenemy returns to vex the Dark Knight by attacking the GCPD to steal back his preserved face. This attack marks the first in a series of attacks against Batman and his family of caped crusaders as one after another the Bat-Family is targeted. Batman finds himself pushed to the far edges of his abilities as the World's Greatest Detective as once again he must face his foe. And this time, as Harley Quin puts it, the Joker is not the same.
