About Radhanath Swami Radhanath Swami is a Gaudiya Vaishnava guru and an author. Born into a Jewish family as Richard Slavin in Chicago in 1950, Radhanath Swami was interested in spirituality right from the start. As early as at the age of 19, he took to travelling across Europe and the Middle East on a spiritual quest before he reached the Himalayan peaks in India. He later adopted the Krishna Consciousness path and became a part of the ISKCON family. Initiated by Swami Prabhupada in 1973, Richard Slavin became Radhanath Das and later received the name Radhanath Swami. At present, the Swami is a member of the Governing Body Commission of ISKCON and is the founder of the Bhaktivedanta Hospital in Mumbai.
