As much as the government is working towards the conservation of India’s national animal, the tiger, we are still seeing a decline in the number of tigers in our land. This book is about the tigers of India which have been hunted for thousands of years now, and their struggle for survival. Summary of the Book In this book, the author discusses whether there is a possibility of a miracle that will come and save the tigers, or whether the government will act on time. It also discusses whether the major illegal trade of tiger skins, that has been rampant in Tibet, can be stopped. The book contains an addition of correspondence between the author and the Prime Minister’s office. There is an inclusion of a Note of Dissent to the report submitted by the Task Force which outlines the author’s plan of action to save the tigers and for their long-term survival. About Valmik Thapar Valmik Thapar, born in 1952, is an Indian natural historian and is foremost among the tiger conservationists. He has authored 14 books and written several articles. He has also produced many programs on television. He has earned himself a name in being one of India’s most respected wildlife experts and conservationists, and has produced and narrated in documentaries on India’s natural habitat and related media like BBC, National Geographic, Animal Planet and Discovery.
