Compiled with love and care by the retired personal assistant of the Maharaja, the book is a storehouse of information. A continuation of the Maharaja's efforts, the manuscript compiles a comprehensive history of not only his rule but also his life. Unable to write an account of his rule during his life, Digbijai Singh, nevertheless left not only his notes and accounts but also a half completed biography that he had dictated to Saiyed Aqa Hasan Rizvi alias Meeran Saheb. Painstakingly put together by Thakur Baldeo Singh, this book includes not only material from this biography but after careful selection, material from the twarikhs of the times as well as diaries of British officers and the administrative accounts of the estate. Further enriching this endeavour are the memories of the compiler himself.
