About Anjan Chatterjee Anjan Chatterjee is a leading Indian restaurateur. Besides The Mainland China Cookbook, Chatterjee has also authored Oh! Calcutta: Cookbook. His cookbooks are about a speciality cuisine and often bring together recipes from his own restaurants. They are well-researched and quite comprehensive in their coverage of the cuisine they deal with. He completed his graduation from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack, and went on to study Hotel Management at the Institute of Hotel Management, Kolkata, after which he worked with the Taj Group of Hotels in Mumbai. He opened his first restaurant in the city by the name of Only Fish in 1992. He later opened a number of successful restaurant chains under his company Speciality Restaurants Pvt. Ltd., the most notable being Mainland China, Oh! Calcutta, and Machaan. Some of the other hotel brands he manages include Kibbeh, Haka, Sigree, Shack, and Flame & Grill.
