About the PoemsThe book contains the latest, unpublished poems of the author. In these poems the author has delineated the predicament of man in this postmodern era when the old values are being replaced by new ones. The postmodern person sometimes feels totally baffled and confused as to his choice of action and thought. Some other recurrent concerns in these poems are the presence of evil in life, transience of life and the inevitability of death. The poems in the present volume are more realistic and mature than those in his earlier books inasmuch as the persona appears to have comprehended the nature of the outside world. He has seen all the ugliness and evil around him but also has realized that there is much to be tolerated in this world. Despite all odds life has something to offer to everyone and it has to be faced and enjoyed in all its forms. The poems are written in simple language and lucid style."The language is lucid, the technique simple and the message unambiguous."- The Sunday TribuneAbout the AuthorDr. Balbir Singh (b. 1956, Panipat) passed his MA in English Literature in 1980 from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra and PhD from M.D.University, Rohtak.
