The Munitions Girls, by Rosie Archer, is the story of a 19-year-old girl called Pixie Saunders, who struggles to carve out a meaningful life from incredibly difficult scenarios that she has to face on a daily basis. Summary of the Book Rosie Archer brings the poignant story of a young girl whose hardships have much to do with all the tragedy around her. Employed in a factory at a young age, Pixie falls prey to all sorts of trouble, the prelude to which had started with her mother abandoning her for reasons she wouldn't want to understand. This is followed by a series of mishaps that happens to her life, especially with the American Serviceman, Cal. Pixie tries to hold onto her strong beliefs to stay alive and eventually to live a life that is full of surprises. About Rosie Archer Rosie Archer was born in Hampshire. She has worked as a waitress, fruit picker, barmaid, shop assistant and even a market trader selling second-hand books. Apart from this title, Archer has published several short stories in many women's magazines.
