The Ocean World (Life and Wonders) is an ample review of the oceans world. This is a guided tour of the oceans world wherein the author reveals everything which can arrest the attention: describing the habits and instincts of the denizens of the sea, entering into their home-life, examining the process of their development, the work assigned to them in the great scheme of life and the connection they have with man. The waves, the currents and the tides, too, find a place in his narration, and, passing northward, we are led into the land of silence, where the sea at the touch of the Wintry King has been transformed into fields of ice and stately bergs. The work is enriched with the illustrations-accurate, so artistic and so admirable executed.
