The Picture of Dorian Gray is the only novel written by the legendary English author, Oscar Wilde. Highly philosophical in nature and propounding the author’s hedonistic world views through the characters of Dorian Gray and Lord Henry Wotton, the book is among the most controversial works of fiction ever to have been written. The story is about a young man, Dorian Gray, who trades his soul for a youthful life. After being impressed with a painting in which he is the subject, Dorian then makes a wish that the painting would age instead of him. How the character’s ways in life impact others are the major crux of the story.
