The Pilgrim’s Progress is a classic English poem and one of the most famous religious allegories in English. John Bunyan’s classic is completely reproduced in this reprint. Summary of the Book Christian, an everyman, journeys from his hometown, the “city of destruction”, to find the “celestial city”. He is burdened by his “sin”, which he thinks he obtained from reading the Bible. As he walks, he seeks redemption from his inevitable fate. He is directed towards a redeeming light by a man called Evangelist, and he begins his journey. On the way, he meets several people, all of who will teach Christian the true meaning and values of Christianity and faith in a merciful God. This is a classical allegory and it is considered to be one of the most important Christian texts in literature.
