The Poetry of Sex is a delightful anthology of crude poems on the theme of sex, edited by Sophie Hannah. Some of these poems are implicit, explicit and some are delicately nuanced in their nature. Summary of the Book This anthology is a must-read title for poetry lovers and romantics everywhere. Sophie Hannah's has edited poems that range from ancient Rome to modern New York, from gay to straight; but her main objective is to go low on the sugar and high on elation and ecstasy, the result of which is this raucous, highly enjoyable anthology that contains poetry written from the times of Shakespeare to that of Carol Ann Duffy. The book is a perfect counterpart to The New Penguin Book of Love Poetry and a brilliant companion to Hannah's own Selected Poems. About Sophie Hannah Sophie Hannah is primarily an internationally bestselling psychological crime fiction writer. Her work, The Carrier, won the Crime Thriller of the Year Award at the Specsavers National Book Awards.
