The papers collected in this volume represent the conference proceedings of the 2nd Global Conference: Ethics in Public Life. Participants, from various countries and trained in various disciplines, gathered in Salzburg, Austria in March, 2010 to discuss topics in the character and role of ethics in public life. Our presentation of papers approximates the original organization of the conference but slightly exercises creative license in the re-distribution of papers to parts, which are conceived along the following lines.
