The Serpent’s Shadow is the third and final novel in Rick Riordan’s Egyptian mythology series, the Kane Chronicles. Summary of the Book The Chaos Snake, Apophis, is back! Carter and Sadie Kane journey around the world to try and keep him in check, but they fail. Now, the Kanes must somehow destroy Apophis before he swallows the entire world. However, they’re almost alone in this battle. The magicians of the House of Life are busy squabbling amongst themselves and the gods are divided. The only hope the Kanes still have is an old spell that can turn the serpent’s shadow against it. However, that magic has been long lost. To find it, they need to trust the crazy ghost of a dead magician. The Kane Chronicles spins towards its end in this climactic finale. About Rick Riordan Rick Riordan is an American writer. He is best known for his series Tres Navarre and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Riordan graduated from the University of Texas. Series Reading Order This book is preceded by The Red Pyramid and The Throne of Fire.
