This is a touching story about the lives of five people who experience love and live in a terrifying world that makes love difficult. As the story goes, they make terrible choices that lead to tragic endings. This is Fatima Bhutto’s debut novel. Summary of the Book The whole story takes place in a span of one cold and rainy day. Mir Ali is a small town that is close to the tribal areas of Pakistan and not too far from the Afghan border. Three brothers decide to meet for their morning meal. After eating, they go their separate ways. The oldest brother, who recently returned from America, takes a taxi to the mosque. The second brother checks in at the hospital. The youngest of the three goes for a ride on his motorbike with a pretty girl sitting behind him. The girl is constantly thinking about the war. The day goes on like any other day, but at the end of the next three hours, all three find themselves in critical conditions. About Fatima Bhutto Fatima Bhutto has studied in the Columbia University and the school of Oriental and African studies at the University of London. She was a featured panelist at the 2010 Daily Beast Women in the World Summit, CNN and Marie Claire.
