A boy who is vested with special powers and can see what not everybody else can, The Shining is a story which will leave feeling dreaded when you check into a hotel. Summary of the Book Danny is a boy who has the power to see more than just human beings. His father takes up the job of a caretaker at the Overlook Hotel. What does the young boy see that leaves him traumatised and scared? Certainly the hotel is engulfed by evilness which only Danny can see. The Shining will want you to hide under your blanket while reading the book. A must-read for all those horror genre fans. About Stephen King Stephen King is an American author. His genres of interest are contemporary horror, suspense, science fiction and fantasy. King has authored several books of which Firestarter, Misery and Desperation are a few to name.
