About Deepak Chopra Deepak Chopra, is an Indian-American alternative medicine practitioner, New Age guru, and an author. Chopra has written over fifty books, like Quantum Healing, The Third Jesus, The Book of Secrets, and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. The author graduated in 1968 from AIIMS in New Delhi. In 1970, Chopra moved to America, and later became the Chief of Staff of the New England Memorial Hospital, Massachusetts. In 1985, he met Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and he then left his job to open the American Association of Ayurvedic Medicine. He became Maharishi Ayurveda Health Center’s medical director. Chopra established the Chopra Center for Wellbeing and also the Chopra Foundation. The author is the winner of the 1997 Golden Gavel Award by Toastmasters International, the 2010 Humanitarian Starlite Award, and 2010 GOI Peace Award. TIME magazine named him on their list of 100 Heroes and Icons of the Century.
