Based on the true story of the Trapp Family Singers, The Sound of Music is a musical family drama film that’s directed by Robert Wise and stars Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer and Eleanor Parker. One of the greatest movie musicals of all time, The Sound of Music is about a young nun who is sent to be the governess of a widowed Naval officer’s seven children who pretend to be angels in his presence but are in actuality little demons. As crazy as things start to seem, the young nun starts to understand the value of relationships and love along the course of her stay.
