The story begins with the introduction of Blue-Beard, a wealthy and powerful man with a terrifying reputation. He has been married several times, but all his wives have mysteriously vanished. Despite his fearsome appearance and reputation, Blue-Beard marries a young woman, whom he showers with gifts and attention.The Forbidden Room:Shortly after their marriage, Blue-Beard goes away on a journey and gives his young wife the keys to all the rooms in his large house, except for one. He strictly forbids her from entering this particular room. The wife is curious about the forbidden room, and her curiosity grows as she wonders about the secrets it might hold.
