Summary of the Book Always on the lookout for a good story, Luke realized that the murder of Jacky Nye, the sidekick of the once-powerful mob boss Joss Grand, might be his ticket to fame. Grand claimed he was a reformed man, that he’d seen the light. However, that didn’t explain how Jacky ended up washed up on the West Pier in 1968, or how he was found dead by strangulation. Luke didn’t known whether or not he could believe Grand’s alibi, despite how solid it seemed. To make matters worse, there was still the matter of a girl in a red coat fleeing the scene. What has Luke uncovered, and will he walk away from this casual attempt at getting the story?
