The topic of Gratuity's assignment was Smekday, the day the earth was attacked a group of aliens. Gratuity chose to narrate her own experiences on Smekday in her essay on The True Meaning of Smekday.  Summary of the Book Years ago, the earth was attacked by Boov, a group of aliens that came to invade America. For Gratuity, it all began with her mother claiming that she had a purple mole on the back of her neck which was a sign that a group of aliens were on their way to attacking her. Of course, she did not believe her mother. Who would believe a story like that. But the aliens did come, and they did carry her away in their spaceship, and Gratuity did believe her mother then. The Boov was here to attack America.  About Adam Rex Adam Rex had always had a talent for art which we see in his stories which are filled with picturesque imaginations. Apart from being a writer, he is also an artist and a painter. The illustrations that he has made of various author's works are noteworthy. Some of the authors whose works he has illustrated include Mac Barnett, Neil Gaiman and David Lubar.
