Summary of the Book With this book, kids will have the most amazing time following a little green caterpillar as he eats his way to transforming into a beautiful and colorful butterfly. This much-loved classic story begins on a sunny Sunday morning, when the caterpillar hatches out of a tiny egg. The caterpillar is extremely hungry and devours many different food items before it pupates. Full at last, the caterpillar makes a cocoon around him and goes into a deep slumber. He wakes up a few weeks later to metamorphoses into a beautiful butterfly. After this, the caterpillar transforms into a beautiful butterfly.
