The book details how she had a naive understanding of the world when she was younger. It covers how most of her time at the age of eighteen was spent with two young men, Rupert and his lover, Allan. Allan is originally from America and wishes to live with Rupert. The only way this can be achieved is if Allan marries a native. Young Milly accepts Rupert’s suggestion of marrying Allan without a second thought and even goes into the trouble of wearing bridal wear for the wedding. Ten years later, she is engaged to Simon, who has no clue about her actions. As her wedding approaches, the secret of her past seems to looming over the horizon. Will her past be uncovered? She has also written Cocktails for Three, The Gatecrasher, Swimming Pool Sunday, A Desirable Residence, and Sleeping Arrangements. Her other books under the pen name Sophie Kinsella are Remember Me?, Twenties Girl, Can You Keep A Secret? and The Undomestic Goddess. She has also written a few books under the Shopaholic series of books, which are The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic, Shopaholic Ties the Knot, Shopaholic Abroad, Shopaholic & Sister, Mini Shopaholic and Shopaholic & Baby. She was born and raised in London, where she went to the Putney High School. Later, she pursued Music at New College. Her book has been adapted into the famous Hollywood hit film, Confessions of a Shopaholic. She currently resides in London with her husband Henry Wickham, and their four sons and daughter.
