A young girl is swept away by a tornado that sets her down in a mysterious land called Oz. The Wizard of Oz is a classic fantasy novel by L. Frank Baum. On her way, Dorothy will meet some of the most loyal friends she has ever made, a scarecrow without a brain, a tin woodman without a heart and a cowardly lion. These creatures join Dorothy in hopes that Oz the great and powerful will grant them what they need to be whole. About L. Frank Baum Lyman Frank Baum was an American novelist known for the Oz series of children’s novels. This novel is sometimes entitled The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
