Callisia repens is an herbaceous, perennial, prostrate, slender, creeping herb with purplish stems rooting at the nodes that have been widely cultivated as an ornamental in gardens and yards in tropical and subtropical regions. It is dense, compact, branched in a ground cover with a very aggressive growth habit under moist shady conditions at low to upper-middle elevations.
