In this book, Miss Marple investigates some of the deadly doings at a rehabilitation center for delinquents. Summary of the Book A man has been shot at the juvenile reform home, but someone else dies instead. When Miss Marple visits her friend in a Victorian mansion, she senses trouble. The mansion is also used as a rehabilitation center for delinquents. Miss Marple is sure of what is happening when Lewis Serrocold, a youth, fires a revolver at the administrator. Although none of them is injured, a mysterious visitor named Mr. Gilbrandsen is not so fortunate. He is shot dead in another part of the building. Could it be that it is a coincidence? Or could it be that Gilbrandsen was actually visiting for another reason? About Agatha Christie Agatha Mary Clarissa Christie was an English writer known for her murder mystery novels and short stories. She has also written romances under the name Mary Westmacott. A prolific writer, Agatha Christie wrote 66 detective novels and 14 short story collections and is best remembered for characters such as Hercule Poirot, Miss Jane Marple, and Tommy and Tuppence Beresford. She was bestowed with the Order of the British Empire for her contributions towards English literature.
