Summary Of The Book This Book Is Not Good For You is the third book of the popular Secret Series for children. The novels are based on the five senses, namely sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste. The protagonists of this series are Cass, a smart twelve year old girl, Max-Ernest, a funny and logical boy, and Yo-Yoji, a boy who has spent a year in Japan. They are all members of the Terces Society, and are usually fighting against the evil Dr. L and Miss. Mauvais, who are members of the Midnight Sun. The quest of this evil society is to uncover the secret of eternal youth, and live forever. In This Book Is Not Good For You, readers will be introduced to Simone, a kidnapped African child, who is a supertaster. The Midnight Sun makes her taste a piece of chocolate, after which she faints. Meanwhile, Cass has a big fight with her mother Mel. However, before she can apologize, Cass realizes that Mel has been kidnapped. The young girl receives a ransom note from Chef Señor Hugo, also a member of the Midnight Sun. The note tells her to find a magical Tuning Fork within two days, and to hand it over to the chef in order to get her mother back. Cass and her friends realize that this magical instrument is probably lying in some unknown junk shop. Not willing to give up, the children set off on an adventure to rescue Mel.
