Cross seems perfectly suited for the dangerous and complicated task that lies ahead of him. Hazel Bannock contacts Cross in order to seek his help in the protection of her company and her family. Cayla is held captive by the Somalian Pirates who demand twenty billion dollars as ransom for her life. The author then goes on to describe the numerous spine-chilling horrors that Cayla must endure while being held captive by the pirates. Even as Major Hector Cross makes every attempt to rescue her, he must make sure to do so before it is too late. The political undertone in this novel is also very evident, and has earned a great deal of acclaim for the author. This novel was highly appreciated by its readers, as well as publication companies such as Publishers Weekly and the Express. Those In Peril is also set to be adapted into a movie as the film rights have been granted. About Wilbur Smith Wilbur Smith is a renowned novelist. Apart from this book, Smith has released a number of other novels, and some of them include The Burning Shore, The Sunbird, Eagle in the Sky, The Diamond Hunters, A Time to Die, The Leopard Hunts In Darkness, Birds of Prey, Warlock and Hungry As The Sea. Smith was born on the 9th of January, 1933, in Broken Hill, North Rhodesia. He completed his schooling from Cordwalles Preparatory School, Natal, and later went on to study at Rhodes University, South Africa, finishing his Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce in the year 1954. After that, he was hired by the Inland Revenue Service. Smith notes that his major inspiration is the nation of Africa, and he has published more than 30 novels till date. His literary works have sold more than 120 million copies worldwide, with 22 million being sold in Italy alone. In the year 2002, the World Forum on the Future Of Sport Shooting Activities presented Smith with the Inaugural Sport Shooting Ambassador Award. He has lived in Switzerland, Cape Town, London, and Malta.
