Summary Of The Book In Threat Vector, Jack Ryan, formerly of the CIA and then the President of the United States, is back again, and back in the Oval Office. He spent most of his career in the CIA dealing with threats from the USSR. But times have changed, and so has the enemy and the scene of action. In Threat Vector, it is now China that poses the main threat to the US. And, events in China are unfolding in a way that it could soon trigger a crisis situation. The Chinese President has been facing increasing opposition due to the economic recession in his country. While he is contemplating suicide to escape arrest, he is given a reprieve by the country's military leader, Su Ke Qiang. However, Wei now becomes a puppet controlled by Qiang. Qiang has plans to seize control of the South China Sea. Knowing they will face opposition from the United States of America, the Chinese launch cyber warfare against the US. Meanwhile, in Istanbul, Jack Ryan Jr. is on an assignment with fellow agents of The Campus. They are there to take down former Libyan Intelligence Operatives who were responsible for the death of a colleague. In the middle of this operation, Jack Ryan Jr. makes a discovery that could mean the cover of the secretive agency, The Campus, might have been compromised and that the identity of its agents uncovered. As the South China Sea threatens to become a battle zone, and the war is taken to the new arena of cyberspace, President Ryan is thinking of The Campus, and Jack Ryan Jr., as his last hope. That is, if they can sort out their own troubles in time. About The Authors Tom Clancy was an American author. His other books include The Cardinal of the Kremlin, The Sum of All Fears, Patriot Games, The Hunt for Red October, and Debt of Honor. Tom Clancy was born in 1947. He earned a degree in English Literature from Loyola College. He worked in the insurance industry and eventually bought an insurance company that belonged to his wife’s grandfather. He wrote novels in his spare time, gaining a reputation for his intricately plotted political thrillers. His first published novel was The Hunt For Red October. Many of his novels including, The Hunt For Red October and Clear and Present Danger, have been made into movies. Mark Greaney is an American novelist. The Gray Man, Locked On, Ballistic, and On Target are some of his other novels. Mark Greaney has a degree in International Relations and Political Science. His first published novel was The Gray Man, which came out in 2009 and was nominated for a Barry Award. He later enrolled for a Master’s Degree in Intelligence Studies, focusing on Criminal Intelligence.
